いわゆる恋の神。

この野蛮な空想が生み出した最低の被造物は、
その神々の罪ゆえに神話に押しつけられたに違いない。

美しさもふさわしさもないあらゆる概念の中で、
これほど不合理で不快なものはない。

性愛を半陰陽の赤ん坊で象徴し、
情熱の苦痛を矢の傷に喩える発想。

そして、このずんぐりとしたホムンクルスを
芸術に導入し、作品の持つ微妙な精神や示唆を
あからさまに物質化してしまうこと。

――これこそは、それを生み出し、
子孫の玄関先に放置した時代に実にふさわしい。

辞書にあるように、この神は
愛の感情を翼のある無邪気な子供
（半陰陽の赤ん坊）に象徴させ、
その痛みを矢の傷に喩えるという
発想が、作者にはひどく不合理で
不快なものと映っている。

この風刺は、芸術作品に頻繁に
登場する、目隠しをして矢を放つ
幼い神の姿を、あからさまに
皮肉っている。
愛を抽象的なものとせず、
ずんぐりした子供のイメージで
物質化したことへの批判だ
