解説

標準に従わないこと。

思考や行動において独立することは異常であり、異常であることは憎悪されることである。
ゆえに私（著者）は、私よりも「平均的人間」に近づくよう努力すること人々に進める。

そうした者には平穏と退屈な死と、地獄への希望が与えられるだろう。
