弓矢を入れる容器だが、
ここでは「軽い議論」
つまり機知に富んだ
短く鋭い言葉を
収める場所に見立てた。

古代の政治家や弁護士が
言葉を武器として使い、
論争相手に投げかける様子を
皮肉っている。

詩にある「肝臓めがけて放った」は、
理屈ではなく感情、
特に急所を突くような
言葉の攻撃を指すのだ。
