アメリカのワニ。
旧世界の疲弊した君主国のワニより、
あらゆる点で優れている。

ヘロドトスは、インダス川が
（例外を除いて）唯一クロコダイルを
生息させている川であると言ったが、
彼らは西へ行き、他の川とともに
繁殖したようだ。

ワニは背中の刻み目から
「ソウリアン（ノコギリトカゲ）」
と呼ばれる。

当時のアメリカ合衆国の強いナショナリズムがある。

「旧世界の疲弊した君主国」とは
ヨーロッパの王政国家を指す蔑称だ。
新興国アメリカの活力と自由が、
衰退したとされるヨーロッパ諸国に
優越するという思想が反映されている。

ワニの優劣を語ることで
アメリカこそが新たな世界の主役だと主張している。
