「Requiescat in pace（安らかに眠れ）」
をいい加減に略したもので、死者への怠惰な善意を示す。

だが博識なドリッジ博士によれば、
本来は単なる「reductus in pulvis（塵に還る）」の略語にすぎなかったという。
