万歳、高き「過剰」よ――とりわけ葡萄酒において。 お前を崇め、我はひざまずく。 お前は私に禁酒を説き、 我が頭蓋を説教壇とし、 我が腹を祭壇とする。 どんな戒律も、どんな文言も、 お前の触れ方ほど甘美に理性を納得させはしない。 私の額や背筋に確かに触れるその感覚ほどに。 お前の命に従い、快楽の杯を避ければ、 葡萄の熱で機知を温めることもなくなる。 悔い改めの腰掛けに座れば、 私はすっかり「改心」する――立ち上がれぬのだから。 それでもなお、再びお前の祭壇に 新たな犠牲を捧げぬ者は忘恩の徒だ！
